ATREE Adjunct Fellow receives award
Dr Deepak Malghan, faculty at the Centre for Public Policy, Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and Adjunct Fellow, Water Land and Society programme, ATREE, has been awarded the V K R V Rao Award for social sciences research for 2015.
This award has been instituted by the Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bengaluru and Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. Two prizes are awarded each year to young social scientists for their research contributions.
Dr Malghan received the award for the economics and human geography and ecology category.
The award citation says "Dr. Malghan’s scale framework sheds new light on one of the central theoretical problems in ecological economies – the mapping between stocks and funds. Dr. Deepak Malghan’s scale framework provides an analytically elegant mapping between the information-rich fund space and the cardinal stock space in a manner that is useful for conservation biology and policy."
