Training, Capacity Development and Support in decision making for Community Forest Resource Rights (CFRR) recognition & management at Bastar District
ATREE signed an agreement with the Bastar district administration on 5th October for 1-year programme on "Training, Capacity Development and Support in decision making for Community Forest Resource Rights (CFRR) recognition & management at Bastar District”. The project was launched on October 6th with a meeting in village Netanar, which also happens to be the village to which Gunda Dhur, the leader of the revolt against British forest policies in 1910, belonged. The meeting was addressed by the village Sarpanch, by the District Collector, and by members of the ATREE CFR team (Dr.Sharachchandra Lele, Dr.Venkat Ramanujam, Anubhav Shori), followed by an intense discussion on the ongoing CFRR claim-making process in the villages and challenges encountered.
