We named a new species Myrmecina bawai in honour of the founder president of ATREE, Prof. Kamaljit S. Bawa, the renowned evolutionary ecologist and conservation biologist. Researchers from ATREE, Dr. Priyadarsanan Dharma Rajan & Mr. Aswaj Punnath discovered Myrmecina bawai in the beautiful and anthropogenically undisturbed landscape of Mizoram.
