ATREE is hiring one Intern to be part of an ongoing study about water bodies in and around the city of Bengaluru. The intern will be expected to assist in the following roles:

  • Study the demographics and understand why users visit particular wetlands.
  • Plan and facilitate nature walks and nature based activities for small groups of people, and
  • Enter data, compile a report outlining the activities conducted and learning gained from participant feedback.
  • The intern is expected to work for ~4 days/ week. 

Requirements:

  • The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in (Ecology/Life Sciences/Environmental Sciences/Social Sciences).
  • Should be comfortable conversing with diverse groups of people, including children in Kannada and English.
  • Basic knowledge of flora and fauna and their natural history from around the Bangalore landscape is essential.
  • A flair enjoying being outdoors with limited facilities and for long hours is a plus.  

 

Number of positions: 1 (Intern)

Duration:  5 months

Place of work: Bengaluru including visits to field sites in and around the city. 

Compensation: A nominal stipend and certificate will be provided upon completion of the internship period.
