Dr. Eklabya Sharma

Dr. Eklabya Sharma is an ecologist having over 35 years of experience with more than 200 publications on sustainable mountain development of the Hindu Kush Himalayan region. Dr. Sharma has worked as Chairperson, Scientific Advisory Committee of the G.B. Pant National Institute of Himalayan Development. He is also a former Deputy Director General, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). Dr. Sharma is currently associated with ATREE as a Strategic Advisor and the Distinguished Senior Fellow. He is assisting ATREE to develop a strategic program focused on biodiversity and climate change in the Himalayas. In addition to developing a visionary plan, he will also help secure funding for the program.
